The Commemoration:

In 2015, the Royal Air Force (RAF) commemorated the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
As part of the commemorations, Eurofighter Typhoon FGR. 4 ZK349 of No. 29(R) Squadron, based at RAF Coningsby, was given a special paint scheme.

HISTORY 

This paint scheme was designed to resemble that of a Hawker Hurricane Mk. I, specifically "GN-A" (P3576) of No. 249 Squadron. This Hurricane was famously flown by Flight Lieutenant Eric James Brindley Nicolson, who was awarded the Victoria Cross for his actions on August 16, 1940, during the Battle of Britain.

The Typhoon, with its historical paint scheme, became a very popular attraction at air shows and events in 2015.
