The aircraft entered service with Cathay Pacific in March 1998. It was one of five Boeing 777-200s that the airline operated. These aircraft were eventually outnumbered by aircraft from the larger 777-300 series, but they still played an important role at the airline until the late 2010s.
B-HNA was withdrawn from service in September 2018. It is currently in storage at Taipei, Taiwan. None of Cathay Pacific's five 777-200s have gone on to find new owners and this aircraft was finally scrapped in 2019.
